General Manager Operations – DPA

Drowning Prevention Auckland (DPA) is seeking an experienced and skilled General Manager – Operations to join their Senior Leadership Team in a full-time, permanent capacity. Due to DPA’s strategic growth, this is a new and exciting role for anyone passionate about leading an operational team to vision.

This role is pivotal for the water safety space. DPA was formed with a vision of Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland being free from drowning, which they aim to achieve through drowning prevention education, advocacy and research.  The position will support the Chief Executive in providing effective leadership and vision: to grow value responsibly, in a commercial, profitable and sustainable manner.

The ideal person for this role is someone who has an appetite for leadership and to drive an operational team to meet and excel against their goals. The key accountabilities for this role are focused on:

  • Leading and managing a skilled team of Team Leaders (and Aquatic Educators indirectly)
  • Maintaining a continually innovative and strategic focus of the whole business and driving operational priorities
  • Developing programmes and delivery plans alongside your team – Planning the workforce to deliver on programmes effectively and efficiently
  • Working closely with the SLT to develop, implement and execute the organisation’s strategy and annual business plans
  • Building and fostering connections with DPA and external agencies to form strong relationships

CLINICAL MANAGER

Our client, Kindred Family Services, is a family services centre in Nor-West Auckland. They are looking for a full-time Clinical Manager to join their team. This would be a rewarding role for someone passionate about leading and developing teams, supporting and empowering clients and their whānau to build on personal strengths, develop strategies and connect with community resources to establish long term positive change.

This role is an opportunity to join and lead a team  dedicated to providing quality interventions to support, empower, and advocate for people so they can reach their full potential. The services offered by this centre work on a trajectory from crisis to safety to stability and towards a flourishing community.

The Clinical Manager role is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Family Support Team, Family Harm Team, Counsellors and Facilitators, and Student Placements, and will collaborate closely with the Executive Director to help support the strategic leadership and clinical direction for the organisation.

Are you the person for this role? You will be happy to work 35-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will have a Bachelor of Social Work, Annual Social Work Registration, experience in Clinical Management and managing teams. You will also understand the management principles involved in strategic planning. You will be a stellar relationship builder with a proven ability to develop networks, demonstrate leadership, and have high-level verbal and written communication skills.

The role is based in Helensville and Waimauku but services a large and diverse population from Taupaki to  South Kaipara, requiring someone who enjoys travelling to meet their clients.

The ideal person for this role is someone who has an appetite to drive team capability, strategic direction, clinical processes and meet productivity and goal achievements. The key accountabilities for this role are focused on:

  • Clinical Leadership: Providing clinical leadership and development to direct reports and developing staff’s clinical capability to ensure that team members are reaching their full potential;
  • Clinical Management: developing clinical and Family Support programmes/projects and policies;
  • Financial/Funding Planning & Reporting: collaborating with the Executive Director to provide performance data and information in order to measure productivity and goal achievement, and responsible for financial decisions and budgets for their delegated area;
  • Relationship Management: developing and maintaining close working relationships with local Iwi and other relevant organisations, exploring new partnerships and resolving client complaints and queries;

kitchen installer

My client, Silverdale Kitchens, is looking for an experienced Installer to join their team on a permanent basis (full-time or part-time will be considered).

This company is excellent at what they do: the design, manufacturing & installation of tailor-made cabinetry (kitchens, bathroom vanities, & laundries).  They are looking for someone as equally excellent to join their busy & fast-paced team.  

Key responsibilities for this role are to provide delivery & installation services.  This position also works closely with the design team, factory staff & management.  Being a team player with strong communication skills is a must.

The ideal candidate must have the following key skills & qualities:

  • An upbeat & positive personality
  • Great organisational skills
  • Trustworthy & reliable
  • A minimum 2-5 years of cabinetry experience

Water Safety Ambassadors (Casual Roles)

Drowning Prevention Auckland (DPA) is seeking experienced and skilled Water Safety Ambassadors to join their team on a casual and as-required basis. DPA delivers drowning prevention education at community events, promotional events and holiday programmes. They require enthusiastic Water Safety Ambassadors to promote water competence and drowning prevention awareness in the community and support their Aquatic Educators. 

This role is pivotal for the water safety space. DPA was formed with a vision of Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland being free from drowning, which they aim to achieve through improving water competency through education. The position will involve regular consultation with the programme coordinators, Aquatic Educators and the Senior Leadership Team (in collaboration with other DPA team members).

The ideal person for this role is someone who has a passion for water safety and education. The key accountabilities for this role are focused on: 

  • Supporting the coordinating the Splash Break-Away Holiday Programme, daily activities and schedules and being an active contributor to toolbox meetings;
  • Educating participants around water safety and awareness;
  • Organising equipment, set-up and pack-down of displays and activities, sign-in sheets and being aware of all medical conditions of participants; 
  • Attending and actively participating in event activities and engaging with event visitors;
  • Undertaking surveys to gain measurable results from the events and providing feedback, and obtaining contact details in order to share further information with people;
  • Acting with cultural awareness and competence at all times – ensuring that relationships are built and maintained across different cultures.

Are you the person that we are looking for? In addition to undertaking the above, you will have a background in the aquatic environment, be enthusiastic and outgoing while remaining professional and have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You enjoy working with people of all ages, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds and enjoy working as a team. You will be punctual, reliable and adaptable. You must be able to swim 200m and tread water or float for 5 minutes.
